Adina Cicort lives and works in Dallas, Texas, US. She was born in Bucharest, Romania, in a modest family of creative people, for whom art was an escape from the mundane. While she took drawing and watercolor painting classes, growing up in a tumultuous Post-Communist Romania she had to choose a different path, and later in 2001, she got her Bachelor Degree in Marketing from ASE Bucharest. In later years her love for art was unleashed, often finding herself drawing, writing poetry and essays, and spending a lot of time in her artists friends studios, learning what was about to become her lifelong passion for oil painting.
Always in search for expressing her true nature, Cicort left aside her career in advertising and PR, and began painting professionally since 2005, while living in Dallas, USA.
Adina emphasizes on spirituality and freedom of expression. For her, emotion and abstract thinking are two key elements in creating a unique visual impact. In constant pursuit of life's fundamental truths, the artist is often depicting dramatic and monumental compositions.
Her art is defined by bold, expressive colors layered in dynamic unconventional strokes and shapes. Although her favorite medium is oil, she has a particular attraction towards mixed media, using a variety of traditional and non traditional painting materials, techniques and tools in innovative ways. Her paintings are vivid, colorful, and energetic. Fabulous stories waiting to unfold, while others are poetry on canvas.
Artist Statement
"My art is an expression of my momentum, of who I am at that particular point in space and time. And I have found myself being all of you at the same time, coming from the same, ONE Source.
My paintings are a bold statement of the values I believe in, a filter of my own reality.
I live to paint and paint to live, trying to do both without fear and only love..."
